UK Entrance and Examination

Over the last ten years I have helped dozens of families to find and secure a place for their child in some of the many world-class schools that the United Kingdom has to offer. My academic support for the child usually involves one or more of the four phases below.

  • Teaching: if the child is entering from outside the UK prep-school system, they may need to be taught some of the examined material.

  • Targeting subjects: with the potential for so many subjects to taken for UK entrance, deciding which topics to focus on is not easy. Through a combination of practise papers and direct questioning, I help the students to determine where their revision should go.

  • Helping with revision: Students younger than fifteen have often had little experience with revision. I provide them with tried and tested skills to memorise and master equations, names, categories, dates and how to break down work into

  • Helping with exam technique: we practise timing, checking, prioritising sections based on available marks and strengths and how to keep one’s cool under pressure.
